What an experience this would be!

There’s a vineyard/winery up the road from me where I think I may be able to have this opportunity. I believe they have a festival (or they used to – I hope they still do!) where they offer this. How fun! I’ll definitely wear clothes that I’m not worried about getting stained! Then I’ll have a blast with this goal! :)

Edited to update: I found out they do still offer this and the next time is in 2 weeks! I’ve marked my calendar. I’m so excited!

I made it to church for the testimony meeting and was glad I went. There was a total of four people, including the reader, organist and me. That’s okay. Small, but mighty. :) It’s such a friendly, loving place to grow. I will go again this Sunday. It feels right for me to be there. I’m ready.

I’m not a teacher yet, but am studying for my certification in order to change careers.

I have learned of some resources that have really gotten me excited about the classroom management part of teaching. (And yes, I realize I just said ‘excited’...)

You might want to check into Harry Wong (you can Google him and find loads of information). See if your school system has any of his DVDs or offers workshops in his techniques. He stresses the importance of not only rules, but PROCEDURES in the classroom. It sounds like that might be something that will help you be able to focus on your lessons.

Also, maybe check into Kagan learning techniques. If you can engage your students, I think you’ll feel that you are much more effective in getting across your lessons.

Keep going! You have such an important and impactful job! The fact that you want to be a better teacher is half the battle. With a little persistence and learning (after all, as teachers we are committed to lifelong learning!), I know you’ll get there! :)
